About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at JSS Search. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive commercial support to our projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide commercial support to projects, including maintaining commercial information and ensuring timely execution.
  • Undertake pre and post contract quantity surveying and commercial duties, supporting the Divisional Commercial Lead and providing commercial situational leadership and guidance to quantity surveyors and operations teams.
  • Review project contract terms and tender / bid submissions, providing input into pricing strategy, qualifications, and clarifications.
  • Lead contract negotiations in accordance with the Company's contracting rules, ensuring timely execution prior to commencement.
  • Maximise cash flow and manage post-contract Quantity Surveying functions, ensuring all contract entitlements are secured with timely notices, valuations, and billings.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree or professional qualification (RICS or CICES or similar) would be advantageous, along with relevant experience.
  • Proven ability as a commercial situational leader.
  • Experienced practitioner / user of sector standard forms of contract, including NEC; NR; JCT.
  • Ability to work with and lead the commercial team to commercialise all aspects of the business.
  • Possesses a rational, analytical, and objective approach to challenges, knowing when to direct, coach, support, or delegate.

  • Eligible to work and live in the UK.
  • A full driving licence, that is valid in the UK.
  • Flexibility to travel in the UK.
