About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a prestigious independent school in Surrey. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality food from locally sourced seasonal produce, catering for student dining and fine dining events of the highest calibre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chef Manager in planning and preparing menus for student dining and fine dining events
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of 10 chefs to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
  • Source and procure high-quality ingredients from local suppliers
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to enhance the culinary experience
  • Collaborate with the Chef Manager to achieve high standards of food quality and presentation
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Passion for producing high-quality food using fresh, seasonal ingredients
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
