Customs Clerk Role

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Customs Clerk to coordinate import and export activities for our client, a freight forwarder based in Braintree, UK. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and collaborating with customs authorities, customers, and suppliers to resolve any issues that may arise.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Coordinate import and export activities, adhering to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and guidelines
* Liaise with customs authorities, customers, and suppliers to address any issues or questions related to business activities
* Ensure accurate and timely customs entries, amendments, and reclaims
* Maintain accurate records and data on spreadsheets
* Perform other ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Line Manager

**Requirements:**

* At least 2 years' experience in exports/imports and customs compliance in the UK
* Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities, with a focus on UK and EU imports
* Right to work in the UK
* Proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel
* Experience with the CDS system, both imports and exports
* HMRC amendment and reclaim experience
