About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Clerk to join our team at WR Logistics. As a Customs Clerk, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth import and export of goods, while adhering to HM Revenue & Customs regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and relevant governing departments and organizations.
- Liaise with customs legal counsel to verify controls and licensing requirements.
- Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimizing costs.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, and necessary agents to address any issues or questions arising from business activities.
- Perform high volumes of data entry on spreadsheets.
- Make customs entry amendment requests to HMRC.
- Perform other ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Line Manager.
Requirements:
- Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 2 years' experience in the UK).
- Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with particular focus on UK & EU imports.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Working knowledge of the CDS system, both Imports and Exports.
- HMRC amendment and reclaim experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft packages, especially Ms Excel and other Ms packages.
