Customs Clerk Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Clerk to join our team at WR Logistics in Braintree, UK.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate import and export activities in accordance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and governing departments.
  • Liaise with customs legal counsel to ensure compliance with controls and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimizing costs.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and customs authorities to address any issues or questions arising from business activities.
  • High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets and making customs entry amendment requests to HMRC.
Requirements:
  • Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 2 years' experience in the UK).
  • Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with particular focus on UK & EU imports.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Working knowledge of the CDS system both Imports and Exports.
  • HMRC amendment and reclaim experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft packages, especially Ms Excel and other Ms packages.
