Customs Clerk Job Description

WR Logistics is seeking a skilled Customs Clerk to join their team in Braintree, UK. As a Customs Clerk, you will play a crucial role in coordinating import and export activities, ensuring compliance with HM Revenue & Customs regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate import and export activities, adhering to HM Revenue & Customs regulations and industry standards.
  • Liaise with customs authorities, customers, suppliers, and necessary agents to address any issues or questions arising from business activities.
  • Ensure all HM Revenue & Customs duty liabilities are fulfilled, minimizing costs.
  • High volumes of data entry on spreadsheets, including customs entry amendment requests to HMRC.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Line Manager.
Requirements:
  • Working experience of Exports/Imports & Customs Compliance and regulations (at least 2 years' experience in the UK).
  • Knowledge of customs requirements and formalities with a particular focus on UK & EU imports.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Working knowledge of the CDS system, both Imports and Exports.
  • HMRC amendment and reclaim experience.
