Attendance Officer

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join our team at a thriving secondary school in Leeds. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality among students.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Monitor daily attendance and punctuality of students.
* Maintain accurate attendance records and produce regular reports.
* Liaise with parents and carers to address attendance concerns.
* Work with teachers and support staff to identify students at risk of poor attendance.
* Implement strategies to improve attendance and reduce persistent absenteeism.
* Attend meetings and provide updates on attendance matters.
* Ensure compliance with school policies and legal requirements regarding attendance.

**Requirements:**

* Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proficiency in using computer systems and software for record-keeping and reporting.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
