Job Title: Head Teacher

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Teacher to join our team at Midlothian Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the school, ensuring the delivery of high-quality education to our students, and promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the school, including staff management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  2. Develop and implement educational policies and strategies to improve student outcomes.
  3. Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other stakeholders to ensure effective teaching and learning practices.
  4. Monitor and evaluate student progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies, including those related to child protection and safeguarding.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher with significant experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a focus on student-centered learning.
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, and assessment.
  • Understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies and procedures.
