About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Transport Planner to join our Highway Development Management Team at Leicestershire County Council.

As a key member of our team, you will provide expert guidance on transportation assessment and input throughout the development process.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a caseload of minor sites and supporting the Senior Transport Planner on more complex sites.
  • Providing effective transport input on pre-application enquiries, outline planning applications, and reserved matters applications.
  • Engaging in negotiation to secure highways and transportation mitigation for development proposals.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A relevant HNC/HND/NVQ4 qualification or equivalent experience in Highway Development Management or land use planning.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in interpreting and writing technical and non-technical reports.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of the planning process as it relates to highways and transportation.
