About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Operations Lead to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our Highway Maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering Traffic Management solutions on the highway, ensuring the safety of operations and compliance with Regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small team of Operatives in delivering Traffic Management solutions, including Mobile works, Lane Closures, Road Closures, stop and go and Marshalling.
- Ensure activities are completed to a high standard, in accordance with LCC specifications, and tackle unacceptable behaviour on site.
- Liaise closely with supervisor regarding onsite changes and assist in the development of skills for less experienced operatives.
- Support a call-out rota to cover evening, weekend and public holiday emergencies, requiring flexible working hours, including night, weekends and public holidays, in all weather conditions.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in highways maintenance or a related field, with relevant qualifications, including NVQ 2 in Highways Maintenance, Skilled Road-worker Trades Test Assessment, and NRSWA Qualification (Operative).
- Extensive knowledge of construction specifications, materials, compaction, and workmanship requirements, as well as safe working practices when using plant and machinery.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and customers.
