Job Description

The Social Work Team Lead will play a key role in supporting the Duty Team in responding to keeping children safe. As part of the transformation journey, the successful candidate will support the Team Manager in chairing strategy meetings and attending child in need meetings.

This role requires a strong understanding of social work practices and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting performance and practice, developing and mentoring newly qualified social workers.

The Social Work Team Lead will be responsible for supporting the team in undertaking assessments of children in need and those subject to section 47 enquiries. They will also assist in developing and implementing strategies to improve practice and outcomes for children and families.

Requirements:
  • Experience in supporting performance and practice, developing and mentoring newly qualified social workers
  • Strong understanding of social work practices and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team

The St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council offers a competitive salary of £35,754 - £40,157 per annum, depending on experience.
