Scientific Support Specialist

CBRE's Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is a leading provider of Scientific Support Services. We are seeking a skilled Scientific Support Specialist to join our team based in Bracknell. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving innovation and optimisation of scientific processes for our clients.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as the first response to Laboratory equipment breakdowns, ensuring all critical science and operations are protected.
- Working with key equipment users, the wider engineering team, and suppliers to ensure that all key laboratory instrument platforms are operationally functional to support the customers' science needs.
- Adhering to agreed Service Level Agreements and supporting the team to exceed Key Performance Indicators.
- Developing and implementing a proactive maintenance regime for the equipment that supports our clients' customised platforms.
- Working with the scientific teams to make recommendations for how best to optimise system performance through service data insights.
- Carrying out on-going system performance analysis based upon error logs, live run interventions, and root-cause analysis & trending of errors to mitigate their reoccurrence.
- Developing innovative support solutions that bring value to our customers.
- Cross-training for wider engineering support within onsite servicing teams.
- Adopting and championing new technologies to improve response and resolution time for clients.
- Taking ownership of workload, parts inventory, safety, and quality compliance protocols.
- Maintaining awareness of new developments in their field of Laboratory Automation.
- Developing CBRE training packages based on the complex laboratory automation within the customer area that you support, with an aim to increase overall system efficiencies through best use and maintenance practices.
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with Vendor Service Organisations.
- Providing technical mediation in the event of long-running equipment issues involving multiple vendors.
- Receiving external contractors, checking H&S documentation, and handing over to end users.
Requirements:
- Experience in maintaining scientific laboratory instrumentation or automation technologies.
- Pharmaceutical/Regulated working background.
- Mass Spectrometry experience.
- Previous experience of working in multidisciplinary customer-facing teams.
- Advanced Technical Skills in the field of expertise or Experience of servicing scientific equipment.
- Driving Continuous Improvement and innovative solutions.
- Good Understanding of device networking and communications protocols.
- Excellent PC and Microsoft tools skills.
