Property Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As an Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating, pricing, and underwriting property insurance risks within delegated authority limits.
Key Responsibilities- Review and assess new and renewal submissions and negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
- Manage and monitor the performance of the property insurance portfolio, building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries.
- Analyse risk information and apply sound judgement to make informed underwriting decisions as well as identify and assess risk exposures.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience working as an Underwriter who has experience underwriting Property Owners risks ideally in the London Market, or you will have Underwriting experience and will cross train into Property.
- Progress towards or achieved CII or ACII qualification is advantageous.
- An ability to assess and analyse complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions based on data and market insights.
- A proven ability to negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients and strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships.
This role will be homebased with occasional travel to London. You'll be offered a competitive salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience and performance-based bonuses.
