About the Role

Your new company is a leading MGA in the Commercial and Residential insurance solutions market, offering a range of coverage and personalized service to brokers and clients. Due to expansion, a position for an Underwriter has arisen in their Property Owners team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, price, and underwrite property insurance risks within delegated authority limits.
  • Review and assess new and renewal submissions, negotiating terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
  • Manage and monitor the performance of the property insurance portfolio, building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers and intermediaries.
  • Analyse risk information and apply sound judgement to make informed underwriting decisions, identifying and assessing risk exposures.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as an Underwriter, ideally in the London Market, or Underwriting experience with a willingness to cross-train into Property.
  • Progress towards or achieved CII or ACII qualification is advantageous.
  • Ability to assess and analyse complex risks, make sound underwriting decisions based on data and market insights, and negotiate terms and conditions with brokers and clients.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain relationships, high level of accuracy and attention to detail in underwriting, policy documentation, and reporting.

This role will be home-based with occasional travel to London. You'll be offered a competitive salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience, and performance-based bonuses.
