Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Moving and Handling Advisor to join our Optimised Handling Team at Wakefield Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist moving and handling services to care providers of adults in both the Council and Independent Sector Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with professionals including Care Co-ordinators, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists to promote evidence-based practice and musculoskeletal health.
  • Conduct assessments at various locations to ensure timely interventions and provide advice, information, instruction, and training in moving and handling activities.
  • Champion safe and innovative working practices, adhering to legislation and promoting evidence-based moving and handling techniques.
  • Develop and implement ergonomic interventions and system design to improve the working environment.
