Job Title: Medical Examiner Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Examiner Officer to join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Medical Examiners in their role, providing advice to relatives, healthcare professionals, and Coroner and Registration services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support Medical Examiners in scrutinising the circumstances and causes of death.
  • Act as a point of contact and source of advice for relatives, healthcare professionals, and Coroner and Registration services.
  • Deputise for specific duties of the Medical Examiner.
  • Contribute to and review departmental policies and procedures to reflect best practice in the delivery of a Medical Examiner system.
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or relevant qualification or equivalent working knowledge in a related field.
  • Completed e-learning MEO core training.
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting with multi-disciplinary teams across organisational boundaries.
  • Significant experience in a healthcare setting working with clinicians.
