About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our Hepatology Team at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Community Liver Health project and the Viral Hepatitis team.

The primary focus of this post is to provide a fibroscan service for patients referred directly by their GP to the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC). This involves performing liver assessments using a Fibroscan and may include venous and capillary blood testing as required by the Hepatology team.

A strong understanding of liver health and experience of working with patients who require complex care would be highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform fibroscans for patients referred to the CDC, following established pathways
  • Support hospital-based fibroscans, both within clinics and on wards
  • Conduct other diagnostic tests for patients identified as being at risk of liver disease, including blood tests
  • Work with the Viral Hepatitis Team to provide Blood Borne Virus testing
  • Motivate and encourage staff within outreach and community settings to refer people for Liver Health Checks
