We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 surgical specialist dietitian to join our Liver and Hepatobiliary (HPB) dietetic team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
This exciting opportunity will involve providing expert dietetic input to the inpatient and outpatient services of the internationally recognised Hepatology and Liver Transplant Unit, as well as contributing to multidisciplinary team working and clinical audit.
The successful candidate will have considerable post-graduate experience in the hospital setting, with expertise in enteral nutrition support and provision, hepatology, and HPB patient care. Strong leadership and negotiation skills, as well as flexibility to adapt to the fluctuating requirements of the service, are essential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive dietetic support to patients undergoing pancreatic and liver surgeries, general hepatology, and liver transplant assessments and reviews
- Lead and participate in multidisciplinary team working, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among healthcare professionals
- Conduct clinical audits to evaluate the effectiveness of dietetic services and identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction
- Cover other acute services within the adult dietetic team, gaining insight into various specialities, including gastroenterology, haematology, neurology, ITU, diabetes, renal, cystic fibrosis, and paediatrics
The role requires strong oral and written communication skills, ability to prioritise workload, and flexibility to work as part of a team. A willingness to reflect and appraise own performance is also essential.
