About the Role

Gates Corporation is seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our local Engineering team in Dumfries. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance of our plant equipment and process machinery, including PLC's and Electrical Drive Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical maintenance, including reactive, planned, and improvement tasks, to ensure optimal equipment performance and efficiency.
  • Assist in training apprentices, including acting as a mentor and defining best practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the team to support ongoing operational demands within the facility.
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of plant equipment safety and interlocking functions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical control and drive systems.
Requirements
  • City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) qualification and time-served electrician experience.
  • Proven track record in a similar role within an industrial environment.
  • Detailed understanding of Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault diagnosis, and repair.
  • Previous experience with industrial robotics and electrical control systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
