Electrical Maintenance Specialist

Gates Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our local Engineering team in Dumfries. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance of our plant equipment and process machinery, including PLC's and Electrical Drive Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical maintenance tasks, including reactive, planned, and improvement work
  • Assist in training of apprentices, including acting as mentor and defining best practices
  • Work collaboratively with the team to support ongoing operational demands within the facility
Requirements:
  • City & Guild or SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) qualification
  • Time-served electrician with experience in an industrial environment
  • Detailed understanding of Siemens PLC logic, programming, fault diagnosis, and repair
  • Previous work with Industrial Robotics
  • Detailed knowledge of plant equipment safety and interlocking functions
  • Knowledge of Electrical Control and Electrical Drive systems
  • Ability to understand and update Electrical Schematics and control documentation
