**Job Overview:**

Lancashire County Council is seeking a highly skilled Equity Research Specialist to join our Public Health, Wellbeing and Communities Directorate. This role will focus on promoting the use of equity-sensitive research in local decision-making.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in research and a keen awareness of how Local Authorities are structured and operate. They will work closely with colleagues across the council and local stakeholders to foster the development and integration of equity-sensitive research skills, processes, capacity, and infrastructure.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about championing the role of research in local decision-making. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to build strategic relationships with senior leaders and researchers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct an audit of research skills and capacity: Identify current levels and scope of capacity and capability, including barriers to engaging with research.
  • Raise awareness of research: Influence senior leaders on the importance of research through senior-level networking and other activities.
  • Establish research infrastructure: Host and initiate studies, implement coordinated governance processes, and provide support for research activities.

Salary: £44,711 - £49,764 per annum | Fixed-term until 11/11/2026 | Part-time | 29 hours per week.
