About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at Halfords. As a key member of our Quality team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and assessment of new products, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and assessment of new products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
- Provide guidance and support to Quality Engineers on technical and compliance requirements.
- Work closely with the Global Sourcing team to ensure suppliers and factories comply with Halfords' technical and social auditing program.
- Monitor customer product returns and develop corrective actions plans to improve product quality.
- Review and implement quality standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Manage and develop Quality Engineers, setting objectives and conducting appraisal reviews.
- Represent Halfords with external technical bodies and associations.
- Support the Quality Management System and contribute to the Quality team strategy and roadmap.
Requirements
- Experience in the hard goods retailer sector, with specialist product knowledge or subject matter expertise.
- Understanding of customer needs and ability to develop products that meet their expectations.
- Knowledge of product manufacturing and quality principles (ISO 9000).
- Detailed knowledge of Quality Management systems.
- Strong people management and communication skills.
- Commercial acumen awareness.
