About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our Personnel Selection team in Woking. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for maintaining a supportive and compliant organisational culture that aligns with our strategic goals.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar HR Advisor level role involving employment relations and ideally hold or be working towards CIPD level 5. In return, you will receive a salary between £32k-£37k dependent on experience, plus annual bonus up to 10% of salary, with 20 days annual leave (increasing annually up to 30) plus bank holidays and complimentary Christmas shutdown days, free parking, healthcare, pension scheme and life insurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • To act as a central point of contact for the HR department on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all HR practices comply with employment law and industry standards, keeping up to date with changes in legislation.
Additional Responsibilities
  • The Screening Process – with specific responsibility for Head Office screening.
  • Administrating the background screening process in the absence of the HR Administrator.
  • Updating and maintaining the inhouse database with new starters, leavers and contract variations.
  • Investigate employee relations enquires, escalating to the HR Manager as necessary, in order to provide guidance to the Management team and to enable fair, consistent and effective management of Human Resources across the business.
  • Provide support to the Managers and colleagues with regards to ER issues and queries as well as supporting them through to disciplinary hearings/grievance hearings/performance management and sickness absences meeting.
  • Provide assistance with Head Office/Senior Manager recruitment process.
  • Support the implementation of performance management systems, including performance reviews, objectives setting, and development plans.
  • Assist the HR Manager in the development of the HR Strategy by reviewing existing policies, procedures and practices and developing new proposals and work processes.
  • Assist with the compilation of monthly HR reports by recording accurate data for the purposes of analysis and monthly Payroll information.
