About the Role

As a key member of the Asda Opticians team, the Optical Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the department. This includes managing a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants, overseeing compliance processes and procedures, reviewing sales forecasting and department targets, and dealing with customer queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants to deliver high-quality patient service.
  • Oversee compliance processes and procedures to ensure the department meets regulatory requirements.
  • Review sales forecasting and department targets to identify areas for improvement.
  • Deal with customer queries and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Work closely with an Optometrist to coach and develop the team, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage the shop floor process to ensure the department is well-equipped to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Fully qualified dispensing optician registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
  • On track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Confident in coaching and developing others.
  • Able to provide excellent customer and patient care.
  • Driven and ambitious to ensure the department meets its targets.
  • Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced Optics environment.
  • Organized and able to manage time effectively.
