Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to contribute to the Pharmacy department at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will gain a wide range of experience in clinical specialties, including Medicine, Surgery, Care of the Elderly, and Acute Admissions, as well as rotations through Medicines Information, Technical, and patient services.
The role includes:
Providing pharmaceutical care to patients from admission to discharge on the wards.
Participating in the multi-disciplinary team at ward level.
Day-to-day working with the Medicines Management Technicians.
Providing prescribing advice and support to junior medical staff.
Educating patients about their medicines.
Participation in clinical audit.
Main Duties of the Job
The department has excellent links with the University of Hertfordshire and opportunities are available for rotational clinical pharmacists to undertake the Joint Programmes Board (JPB) clinical diploma, supported and mentored by our highly skilled team.

Education and Qualifications:
Essential
- MPharm (or equivalent overseas degree).
- GPhC registration.
Desirable
- Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (or equivalent).
Knowledge:
Essential
- Prescription Monitoring.
- Computer and IT Literate.
- Need for Confidentiality.
- Up-to-date clinical pharmacy knowledge.
- Up-to-date knowledge of national pharmacy issues.
- NHS organisational structure.
Desirable
- Health and Safety.
Experience:

- Completion of Pre-registration placement.
