Job Description

**Job Title:** Editorial Director - Television and Radio

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced and skilled Editorial Director to lead our television and radio content team at The Telegraph. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the editorial coverage of TV and radio across our daily papers, Saturday Review section, and online platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive editorial strategy for TV and radio content, ensuring high-quality coverage that meets the needs of our readers.
  • Manage and oversee the production of TV and radio listings content across all platforms, ensuring accuracy and adherence to editorial standards.
  • Collaborate with the TV and Radio Commissioning Editors and senior editors on the Culture desk to ensure market-leading, agenda-setting content.
  • Liaise with the social media and new formats teams to optimize TV and radio content for engagement and subscription growth.
  • Build and maintain relationships with freelance writers and PR contacts to secure high-quality content.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of content.
  • Develop and implement a content calendar to ensure consistent and high-quality content across all platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze audience engagement and feedback to inform content decisions.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in editorial leadership roles, preferably in a national newspaper or media organization.
  • Strong understanding of the Telegraph's audiences and their interests.
  • Detailed knowledge of and enthusiasm for the world of TV, radio, and entertainment.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative ideas for content.
  • Excellent writing, reporting, and editing skills, with the ability to adapt to different styles and formats.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external partners.
