Customs Clearance Specialist

Temp Station Ltd is a leading freight forwarding company based in the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced Customs Coordinator to join our team on a permanent basis.
Job SummaryThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating customs clearance operations, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, and working closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
About the RoleWe are looking for a highly organized and proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize deadlines, and maintain accurate records. The ideal candidate will have experience in customs clearance, trade compliance, or a related field and be familiar with relevant regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate customs clearance operations, including handling import and export documentation, calculating duty and tariff payments, and advising on import and export restrictions;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely shipment processing and resolve any issues that may arise;
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including tracking numbers, delivery dates, and any issues encountered;
- Communicate effectively with international operators, brokers, and other external parties to ensure seamless logistics operations;
- Stay up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and procedures, and implement necessary adjustments to ensure compliance;
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of processes and procedures to improve customs clearance efficiency and accuracy;
- Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., logistics, supply chain management, business administration);
- At least 2 years' experience in customs clearance, trade compliance, or a related field;
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations and procedures, including HMRC requirements;
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure, meeting tight deadlines;
- Familiarity with Destin8 and other logistics software;
- Good understanding of import and export procedures, including paperwork and documentation requirements;
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
