Respiratory Unit Nurse Specialist

The Respiratory Unit is a dynamic and rapidly evolving environment, providing exceptional care to patients with complex respiratory needs. As an Acute Care Respiratory Practitioner, you will play a vital role in assessing, stabilizing, and managing the care of these patients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' care needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to address their unique requirements.
- Provide expert care and management for patients requiring non-invasive ventilation and tracheostomy care, collaborating with intensive care specialists as needed.
- Supervise junior staff and healthcare assistants, promoting a culture of excellence and ongoing professional development within the team.
- Teach qualified and unqualified staff, including preregistered and post-basic students, to enhance their skills and knowledge in acute respiratory care.
To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. A registered general nurse with strong post-registration experience is essential, along with a solid understanding of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Data Protection Act.
Able to manage your caseload with supervision, work all shifts, including night duty, and demonstrate computer skills, self-motivation, and good time management abilities. Driving license and willingness to travel required.
