About the Role:

As a Residential Childcare Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the residential home. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the Registered Manager in ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and meeting all Ofsted regulations.
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare and development of the young people.
  • Ensuring that the children's needs are recognised and met where possible.
  • Developing and maintaining good working relationships with parents, carers, social workers, schools, and other professionals involved with the welfare of the children.
  • Planning, managing, and leading shifts to ensure children are kept safe and engaged throughout the day.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent and/or a willingness to work towards an NVQ Level 5 in Residential Childcare.
  • Experience working with children/young people in a residential childcare setting in a senior role for at least two years.
  • Experience in a supervisory capacity (ideally as a senior).
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Children's Home Regulations and Ofsted Requirements.
  • Resilience to keep going at difficult times and to ask for support if needed.
  • Computer literacy and an eye for detail.
  • A driving licence and access to a car to complete duties.
