Job OverviewThis is an exciting opportunity for a skilled mental health professional to join our team as a Primary Care Mental Health Practitioner. The role is part of the Additional Role Reimbursement Scheme to embed Mental Health practitioners in Primary Care Networks.
The purpose of this role is to bridge the gap between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health services by delivering high-quality Mental Health care in Primary Care settings.
You will primarily work in Primary Care Networks as a member of the integrated teams in GP surgeries.
Main DutiesThe key responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivering high-quality Mental Health care in Primary Care settings
- Bridging the gap between Primary Care and Secondary Mental Health services
- Working closely with General Practitioners and other healthcare professionals
- Providing support to children and young people with mental health issues
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A recognised mental health qualification (e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychologist)
- Experience of using quality improvement methodologies
- A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience working in a community mental health setting
- Good communication skills and ability to work both within multidisciplinary teams and independently
We offer a competitive salary of approximately £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for career development and continuing education.
