Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cefn Coed Hospital in Swansea. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for the well-being of patients in our male high dependency rehabilitation/recovery inpatient units.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with consultant colleagues and the multi-professional team to ensure the best possible care for patients.
  • Participate in the clinical directorate structure and contribute to service and directorate planning.
  • Take part in the 1 in 20 on-call consultant rota across the Swansea Bay UHB area.
  • Undertake duties at other locations within the Health Board as necessary.
Requirements:
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On the Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview.
  • Primary CCT or an endorsement in CAMHS or General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Teaching qualification or Higher qualification in medical education.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Evidence of effective leadership and ability to work under pressure.
  • Experience of teaching and training post/undergraduate clinical staff.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, relatives, and staff.
  • Understanding of information systems and technology (IT).
Personal Attributes:
  • Flexible and adaptable to competing demands.
  • Ability to undertake on-call duties.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a positive attitude towards learning.
