NYKays Ltd: Teaching Assistant - Special Needs

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other Special Educational Needs in our schools.

This role is a fantastic opportunity to work with children/young people with learning difficulties, particularly autism, and make a positive impact on their lives.

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing one-to-one support to children with ASD and SEN.
  • Assisting teachers in teaching and learning activities.
  • Supporting colleagues with personal care related tasks.
  • Maintaining a safe and productive work environment by working effectively with other staff members.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience of supporting children with ASD and challenging behaviors.
  • At least 3 months experience working as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant.
  • A commitment to working with children with special educational needs.
  • The ability to manage confrontation and challenging behavior.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A passion for working with children with Special Needs.

We require all applicants to undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, professional reference checks, and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) in line with our safeguarding policy.

Estimated salary: £28,000 per annum.
