Job Title: Senior Social Worker - Fostering Service

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Fostering Service team in Wakefield. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the well-being and safety of children in care, working closely with foster carers, social workers, and other professionals to achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers to ensure the delivery of high-quality services to children in care.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve the lives of children in care, including placement stability and achieving good outcomes.
  • Work closely with foster carers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure the needs of children are met.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to improve the Fostering Service.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of social workers and foster carers.
Requirements:
  • Qualified and registered Social Worker with at least 2 years post-qualifying experience.
  • Proven experience of working with children in care and foster carers.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage a caseload of varying needs and complexities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the development of the Fostering Service.
