Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced LGV Class 1 Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high standards of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations.
  • Liaise with the Transport Operations desk to report any potential difficulties, delays, or variations from the original brief.
  • Ensure the vehicle is driven with utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians, and the local environment.
  • Accurately complete all documentation required by the Company and the customer.
  • Ensure compliance with Company rules and regulations, as well as legislation.
  • Check all documentation against consignment and report any issues or differences.
  • Strive to ensure punctual collection and delivery of all loads.
  • Ensure the safety of the vehicle and its load while on duty, reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Operations team.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of the vehicle, using manual or mechanical lifting equipment where authorized and trained.
  • Be flexible with shift starting and finishing times.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the vehicle while on duty, leaving it in clean condition and reporting any defects immediately.

Requirements

  • We will consider new passed HGV Class 1 Drivers on a case-by-case basis.
  • Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence.
  • Current CPC.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritize workload to meet set deadlines.
