Job Title: LGV Driver

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled LGV Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high standards of customer service and relations to customers and suppliers, ensuring compliance with site rules and regulations.
  • Liaising with the Transport Operations desk to report any potential difficulties, delays, or variations from the original brief.
  • Ensuring the vehicle is driven with utmost concern for other road users, pedestrians, and the local environment.
  • Accurately completing all documentation required by the company and the customer.
  • Ensuring all company rules and regulations, as well as compliance with legislation, are always achieved.
  • Checking all documentation against consignment and reporting any issues or differences.
  • Ensuring the punctual collection and delivery of all loads.
  • Ensuring the safety of the vehicle and its load while on duty, reporting any defects to the Traffic office/Operations team.
  • Assisting with the loading and unloading of the vehicle, using manual or mechanical lifting equipment where authorized and trained to do so.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle while on duty and leaving it in a clean condition, reporting any defects immediately.
  • Undertaking any other tasks reasonably requested by Depot Management.

Qualifications:

  • We consider new passed HGV Class 1 Drivers on a case-by-case basis.
  • Possession of LGV Class 1 Licence.
  • Current CPC.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritizing workload to meet set deadlines.
