Solar PV CAD Designer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Solar PV CAD Designer to join our team at Glos. As a Solar PV CAD Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Solar PV design team, ensuring our installers and clients have access to accurate Solar designs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Tender Pack Review: Review tender packs and documentation from clients to ensure accurate and complete information.
  2. Energy Report Analysis: Analyze energy reports against builders' site plans to identify potential design issues.
  3. Design Pack Creation: Collate documents to create a comprehensive design pack for Solar PV installations.
  4. Site Plan Creation: Create detailed site plans indicating Solar PV locations, ensuring accurate and efficient installation.
  5. AutoCAD Design: Complete designs primarily using AutoCAD, utilizing your expertise to create high-quality designs.
  6. Administrative Support: Assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations.
  7. Documentation Preparation: Assist in the preparation and updating of documentation, maintaining accurate records.
  8. Client Communication: Understand and interpret clients' expectations, providing excellent communication and customer service.
Requirements:
  1. AutoCAD Experience: Essential experience with AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of its capabilities and limitations.
  2. PVSol, VDV Planner, and Solar Experience: Desirable experience with PVSol, VDV Planner, and Solar, with a strong understanding of their applications and benefits.
  3. Organizational Skills: Organized with the ability to prioritize your workload, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  4. IT Skills: Strong IT skills, including Excel, with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
  5. Communication Skills: Excellent communicator, with a professional approach and the confidence to liaise with colleagues and customers.
  6. Attention to Detail: Attention to detail and accuracy, even when working under pressure, ensuring high-quality designs and documentation.
  7. Time Management: Tenacious approach to completing tasks within deadlines, with a positive and flexible attitude.
  8. Motivation: Highly motivated and pro-active, with a strong desire to contribute to the success of Glos.
