At Swansea Bay University Health Board, we are seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Ty Einon Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality services within the Eating Disorder Service.

You will be allocated a Consultant who has completed the Portfolio Pathway (CESR) process as an educational and clinical supervisor to guide you through the process and help you with your portfolio. Your training will aim to mirror that delivered by a higher specialty training programme and utilize portfolio evidence in the same way.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced nurses, psychotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, occupational therapists, and medical staff. You will work closely with colleagues in Specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, Adult Primary and Adult Community Mental Health Teams to ensure seamless and coordinated care for individuals.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To develop effective working relationships with all levels of staff on an individual and multi-disciplinary basis
  • To work with management and clinical colleagues to improve service delivery
  • To demonstrate leadership ability and take responsibility when necessary

We offer a competitive annual salary of approximately £87,938, depending on experience, along with 33 days' annual leave (pro-rata). You will also receive opportunities for career development, relocation support, and access to excellent CPD with our own medical education centre.

The successful candidate will have:

  • MRC Psych or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent understanding of current developments in psychiatry and other aspects of mental health
  • Substantial knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary issues in mental health
