About the Role

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Orthoptist to join our team in Swansea, Wales.

We are committed to providing high-quality patient care and delivering exceptional services across our hospitals. As a key member of our orthoptic department, you will play a vital role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing various ocular motility conditions in patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • To assess, diagnose, and manage ocular motility conditions in patients, utilizing a range of orthoptic skills and techniques.
  • To work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including ophthalmologists, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • To participate in clinical audit, research, and professional development activities to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
  • To maintain accurate records and contribute to the development of policies and procedures within the department.
Requirements
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Orthoptics.
  • Proven experience in orthoptic practice, preferably within a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining current knowledge in orthoptic practice.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with excellent benefits, including:
