Job Title: Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Clinical Educator

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Clinical Educator to join our team in the Gynaecology Department at Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior Sister/Clinical Educator to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the development of our Gynaecology services.

As a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse/Clinical Educator, you will be responsible for leading clinical care, managing a patient caseload, and coordinating nurse-led clinics. You will also contribute to a multi-professional approach in the management of patients within the specialist area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a high level of clinical decision making, monitor and improve standards of care, working within your advanced scope of professional practice.
  • Lead clinical care by managing a patient caseload providing expert assessment, planning, and evaluation.
  • Co-ordinate and manage nurse-led clinics (within Specialty/service).
  • Contribute towards a multi-professional approach in the management of patients within the specialist area, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements.
  • Support patients and their families and ensure that they receive the required information to enable them to self-manage, lead, or participate in their care delivery.
Person Specification

We are looking for an experienced nurse with a strong background in Gynaecology, who has a passion for clinical education and leadership. You will have a recognised teaching and assessing qualification, and a Master's degree within nursing.

You will also have extensive experience of working autonomously within Gynaecology acute assessment at an advanced level, delivering effective patient-focused care. You will have evidence of continued professional development, and experience of audit, research, and evidence-based care.
