About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Education Support Professional to join our dynamic team at Long-term Teachers Ltd.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a compassionate and experienced individual to provide one-to-one and small group support to students with special educational needs in Exeter.

The successful candidate will assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and differentiated lessons, supporting students with personal care and medical needs as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality support to students with special educational needs, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and contribute to regular updates for parents and carers.
Requirements
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and dyslexia.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations, prioritizing the needs of students and colleagues.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs, such as a Level 2 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
