Special Needs Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated Student Support Mentor to join our team at Long Term Futures Ltd in Barking, London. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting young learners with emotional and behavioral challenges.
Salary: £90-£105 per day, term-time only.
About the Role:
You will work closely with teachers and families to develop tailored strategies and action plans for individual pupils. Your responsibilities will include mentoring and supporting pupils in Key Stages 1 and 2, helping them develop positive behaviors, build resilience, and fully engage with their learning. The school prides itself on fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consistent and approachable mentor for pupils needing additional behavioral and emotional support.
- Lead small group sessions to help children build skills such as social interaction, emotional regulation, and confidence.
- Provide targeted one-to-one support for pupils facing challenges that may impact their learning.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will possess experience working with children, ideally in a school, youth work, or mentoring capacity. A patient and empathetic approach to working with pupils who face emotional or behavioral challenges is essential. Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with pupils, staff, and families are also required. Confidence in implementing behavior management strategies to create a positive learning environment is a must.
What We Offer:
