About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Support Worker to join our team at a SEND school in Wakefield. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with special educational needs, providing a safe and nurturing environment that enables them to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support children with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, PMLD, Complex needs, Mobility, SEMH, and MLD.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to develop and implement individualized support plans.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to children, promoting their social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care and mobility.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting the well-being and safety of all children.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working with children or young people, ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play, or care setting.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS check, registered to the Update Service.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
