Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated nurse to join our team as a Respiratory Care Specialist at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to patients with respiratory conditions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including hospitals and community-based services. As a Respiratory Care Specialist, you will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with respiratory diseases, developing and implementing treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients with respiratory diseases, including COPD, asthma, and other conditions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on respiratory disease management.
  • Liaise with community services, including community-based respiratory nurses and intermediate care services.

Person Specification

We are looking for an individual who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will have:

  • NMC Registration.
  • Courses related to advanced nursing practice or equivalent extensive knowledge in respiratory medicine.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a pension scheme, and a generous annual leave allowance.
