Main Job Responsibilities

The chosen candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications to patients, as well as maintaining accurate records of all dispensing transactions. They will also be required to work collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispensing medications to patients, including acute prescriptions and private prescriptions.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all dispensing transactions, including checking and dispensing medications, updating patients' repeat screens, and recording private prescriptions and collecting specified charges.
  • Working collaboratively with the clinical team to ensure that patients receive the best possible care, including providing assistance with medication-related projects and conducting clinical audits.
  • Ensuring that all dispensing transactions are carried out in accordance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Health and Safety Act and the Controlled Drugs Regulations.
  • Providing excellent customer service to patients and other visitors, including answering queries and dealing with complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
Requirements and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a relevant dispensing qualification, such as a NVQ2 or registration as a pharmacy technician. They will also be required to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
