Administrative Support Professional for Public Health Research

The University of York is a world-renowned institution seeking an organised and highly efficient research Secretary/Administrator to provide professional secretarial and administrative support to the Family Wellbeing Team, the Healthy Livelihoods Team and associated research projects. Located in the heart of the city, our department prides itself on fostering a supportive culture that helps staff and students contribute fully, flourish and excel.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with excellent IT skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of a team to provide administrative and secretarial support to multidisciplinary research projects. The ideal candidate will be someone who exhibits an energetic, professional and thorough approach to their work, who has the flexibility to adapt to changing demands and prioritise workload effectively.
Job Description:
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Family Wellbeing Team and Healthy Livelihoods Team, including managing diaries, arranging internal and external meetings, and making travel/accommodation arrangements.
- Utilise digital technologies, including Google applications and Microsoft Office, to maintain website and social media platforms.
- Assist in coordinating events, workshops, and conferences related to public health research.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth project implementation and timely delivery.
Requirements:
- A Level 2 qualification, including Maths and English, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working in a varied administrative role, balancing competing priorities, and possessing thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and processes used in a busy office within a large complex organisation.
- Proficiency in using digital communication channels, maintaining website and social media platforms, and ability to use digital technologies, including Google applications and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to act as a point of contact, arranging internal and external meetings, and making travel/accommodation arrangements.
- Competent in diary management.
Salary: £32,000 - £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
