Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Wine Programme Manager to join our team at AngloThai. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our wine programme, working closely with our suppliers to ensure the best selection and pricing. You will also be responsible for training and empowering our FOH team to pair and recommend wine confidently.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and develop the wine programme for AngloThai, including selecting and purchasing wines, managing inventory, and conducting regular tastings and briefings on the wine list.
  • Work in service for lunch, dinner, and private events, providing exceptional guest service and maximising sales opportunities.
  • Inspire, train, and empower the FOH team to pair and recommend wine confidently, ensuring they have a deep understanding of our wine list and can make informed recommendations to guests.
  • Develop relationships with wine suppliers to ensure the best selection and pricing, negotiating contracts and ordering processes.
  • Manage wine inventory, ensuring accurate stock counts and overseeing ordering processes.
  • Maximise sales opportunities through exceptional guest service, upselling and cross-selling wine options.
  • Conduct regular tastings and briefings on the wine list, staying up-to-date on the latest wine trends and developments.
  • Lead by example, inspiring a passion for wine across the dining room team and promoting a culture of excellence in all aspects of wine service.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for best-in-class hospitality, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of what it takes to run a top-rated restaurant.
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably in a fine dining or Michelin-starred establishment.
  • Knowledge of wine, including wine regions, grape varieties, and wine-making techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and guests.

  • A base salary of £40,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
