About the Opportunity: We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy services at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medicines optimisation across the trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic direction for pharmacy services, including developing and implementing strategies for medicines management.
  2. Lead on medicines optimisation, providing expert interpretation to the board and senior managers on all medicines optimisation issues.
  3. Work with partnership organisations to develop joint medicines optimisation strategies in the local health system.
  4. Manage and maintain the pharmacy budget and resources.
  5. Support the Accountable Officer for Controlled Drugs in the management of controlled drugs across BSMHFT.

Requirements:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist.
  • Master's Degree in Pharmacy (or demonstrable equivalent experience).
  • Postgraduate or management qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of sustained personal and professional development.
  • Demonstrable senior leadership experience in multiple NHS pharmacy settings.
