Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated senior pharmacist to lead our clinical pharmacy service at Birmingham Women's Hospital. As a Senior Clinical Pharmacy Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to patients across maternity, gynaecology, and neonatal directorates.

Your primary focus will be on leading, supporting, and developing the team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive service improvement projects and enhance patient care.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in women's health and neonatal pharmacy, along with strong leadership and project management skills. They will also possess excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations on prescribing practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pharmacist to take on a leadership role and contribute to the development of our patient-focused clinical pharmacy service.

Responsibilities
  1. To lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service, ensuring all patients receive outstanding pharmaceutical care.
  2. To supervise, motivate, and support the team to achieve smooth and efficient workflow.
  3. To work collaboratively with pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams to deliver service improvement projects.
  4. To provide expert advice on medicines optimisation, guideline/policy development, and incident investigation.
Requirements
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist.
  • Post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of three years post-qualification experience, including substantial hospital experience.
  • Experience within women's health and neonatal pharmacy.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The position also comes with a comprehensive benefits package, including access to ongoing professional development opportunities.
