About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Clinical Lead to join our team at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop our clinical pharmacy service, working closely with our senior leadership team to drive excellence in medicines optimisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards, developing and implementing clinical pharmacy KPIs to ensure high-quality services, and providing supervision and mentoring to junior pharmacists. They will also work closely with our Chief and Deputy Chief Pharmacists to develop and implement medicines policies, systems, and processes.

This role requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working in an acute NHS trust, with expertise in postgraduate teaching and training. They should also demonstrate competence at a senior clinical level, with leadership/line management experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • To lead and deliver the day-to-day clinical pharmacy service to surgical wards through a team approach across the service.
  • To develop a comprehensive set of Clinical Pharmacy KPIs to provide assurance on the quality and effectiveness of the clinical pharmacy service within pharmacy and to the wider trust.
  • To support the Chief and Deputy Chief pharmacists in the development and implementation of the Trust's Medicines policies, systems and processes.
  • To lead on clinical service development and providing support to the wider trust initiatives regarding medicines as well as working with other colleagues such as the MSO, antimicrobial pharmacist and education lead pharmacist.
Person Specification
  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPHC
  • Succesfully completed the PG Pharmacy Clinical Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Independent Prescribing Qualification (Or working towards)
