Key Responsibilities

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting pre-operative tests, assisting during consent appointments, and providing information to patients.
  • Instructing patients on post-procedure care, updating medical records, and making follow-up appointments.
  • Coordinating patient flow, ensuring minimal waiting times, and managing queries.
  • Assisting surgeons during consent appointments and treatments, acting as scrub assistant, and taking notes.
  • Undertaking the role of HCA in IOL theatre, assisting the surgical team and patients during surgery, and associated tasks.

Essential Skills:

  • Previous experience in optical or healthcare environments.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to absorb and convey technical information.
  • Adaptable with a flexible approach to work.
  • Excellent time management skills and prioritization.
  • A confident and professional individual with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Professional telephone manner.
  • Demonstrated confidentiality, integrity, and discretion.
  • A valid UK driving license and own car are essential.
  • Flexibility to travel to Thetford clinic when required.
